The post is divided into local and international postings. Remember, regardless of your regional or thematic concentration, work experience in your feild of interest is always important. For example, if you're interested in working in international development and working with children, starting off with an organization like the Nest can give you wonderful topical expertise in how to work with children.   • AB Connnect The mission of the Abroadband Connections volunteer project is to enhance the English language skills of Guatemalan students by connecting them with volunteers from around the world.This is a distance learning project where volunteers will be facilitating English lessons from the convenience of their home using an internet platform for video facetiming. This program is designed to allow the volunteer to get to know an individual child’s English level, build a teaching relationship, and help them to continue to progress their English skills through each lesson. There is also an opportunity to partake in the creation of educational video lessons.   • Office of Personnel Management Federal Government Internships The Internship Program replaces the Student Career Experience Program (SCEP) and Student Temporary Employment Program (STEP). This Program is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers while still in school and while getting paid for the work performed. Students who successfully complete the program may be eligible for conversion to a permanent job in the civil service.
