Biography

I am a third year Political Science PhD student and teaching assistant with a major focus in International Relations and minor in Behavior. My research interests include political violence against civilians and political psychology. Specifically I focuse on how the dynamics of armed groups impacts their propensity to deliberately target and attack civilians. In addition, I am interested in how political violence against civilians impacts individuals' and groups' attitudes and behavior.

My current research focuses on armed group dynamics such as female combatant prevalence in rebel groups, private military contractors, and rebel recruitment mechanisms in relation to political violence against civilians and sexual violence. In addition, my current research examines how exposure to violent attacks against civilians shapes political attitudes and behavior such as support for human rights and authoritarian attitudes.

I have been a Teaching Assistant for PS 230: Introduction to International Relations and PS 101: Introduction to American Government. In addition, I have been a solo instructor for PS 230: Introduction to International Relations and PS 310: Contemporary Global Conflicts.

I am currently the recipient of the Georgia Davis Powers Graduate Fellowship through the Office for Policy Studies on Violence Against Women.
