Md. Al-Amin is a first-year Ph.D. student concentrating on International Relations. His research interests focus on political conflicts, particularly those involving religious extremism and civil war. Originally from Bangladesh, Al-Amin earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Government and Politics at Jahangirnagar University. He is currently on study leave from his position as a faculty in the Department of Political Science at the University of Barishal, Bangladesh.
